MEC1731 Discrete Opamp

$100.00 CAD

The MEC1731 is a pretty unique opamp. Such a version has never been realized before as far as we know. Specifically because we are being as faithful as possible to the exact type of parts used in the original version. I know this because I purchased four AML27 amplifier cards some years ago. After having them forever, and practicing on a 2520, I decided to take one of the 1731 amps apart and see if the popular DIY versions were accurate. The biggest difference is how different they sound when using the original transistors and not substitutions. Like with the CA-0252 we are using single layer capacitors and carbon film resistors. After all, everything changes everything.

The MEC1731 Discrete Opamp only ships with the longer terminal pins so there is no issue in a 2500 etc that may have other components under the opamp footprint. These longer pins impose no issues when used in a situation with no components under the amp. Just leave them long. If you have an old school situation where the amps are soldered directly to the PCB, just solder them in and cut the pins off.

Some of the applications the MEC1731 Discrete Opamp can be used for:
Microphone Preamplifiers
Line or Booster Amplifiers
Lossless Combining Amplifiers
Balanced Transformerless Amplifiers
Equalizers and Compressors

Additional features and specs:
Industry standard 2520 footprint for plug-in or PC mount connections
Low noise, high power output
Low distortion
Minimum load impedance is 75 ohms for full output voltage
Power supply voltage is bi-polar +/- 12 VDC to +/- 18 VDC
