CAPI VP28 Ed Anderson

Designed by Jeffrey Steiger of Classic Audio Products, Inc. this VP28 is a full fledged 2-stage mic preamp for the 500 series format.

This preamp utilize two separate opamps (discrete operational amplifier), you have the choice of any variation of the following opamps (GAR2520, GAR1731 or the latest CA-0252 of CAPI).
Two Ed Anderson output transformers and a CA2622 input transformer.

The EA2623-1 is a custom made audio output transformer. The EA2623 has been designed by Ed Anderson to replicate the transformers found in the vintage API recording consoles from the 1970’s. This transformer was used in the “preamp out” and the “direct out” positions of the vintage consoles. It was also used in the ACA summing amplifiers (PCB mount version, EA2623-4), Echo send modules, Master Cue modules, some of the 500 series modules and of course the talkback mic pre amp!
